AlphaWolf is currently looking to fill the following positions on a contractual basis:  Contact Geo Thomas at 248-541-4667 for more information


2010 SUMMER BASKETBALL CAMP STAFF:

INTERN:  This position is for boys/girls entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade in the fall of 2009.  The Intern position is one you must register and pay a $250 fee for.  Interns will receive a training packet and will be given direct training in officiating, scorekeeping and working with children in grades 2-4.  Interns are not allowed to work alone with campers but will assists CITs and full counselors in coaching. 

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT): (THERE ARE NO OPENINGS FOR THE CIT POSITION IN 2010) For boys/girls entering 9th-10th grade in the Fall of 2010. This is not a paid position for first year CITs. Returning CITs will be offered a financial contract... CITs will be trained to work with campers in all capacities.  Emphasis on training will be placed on officiating as well as how to handle problems which arise at camp--both behavioral and medical.  Once training is complete, CITs will be required to coach and instruct players in all areas of basketball for players in grades 2-6.
 


HOW TO APPLY FOR 2010 SUMMER INTERN POSITION:

1)  You must attend one of the two informational meetings held at Seaholm High School.  If the candidate is under 15 years of age, a parent must attend as well.  To RSVP, please call 248-541-4667 or e-mail Geo Thomas at geothomas44@comcast.net. 

DATES AVAILABLE TO MEET (attend one):

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22 OR

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 25

7:30-8:30pm at Seaholm HS, Room F-104

YOU MUST RSVP BY PHONE OR E-MAIL!

2)  CANDIDATES MUST PRESENT A LETTER FROM THEIR COACH STATING THEY PLAYED FOR THEIR SCHOOL TEAM. (due at the meeting)

3)  CANDIDATES MUST PROVIDE TWO LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION FROM SOMEONE OTHER THAN THEIR FAMILY OR BASKETBALL COACH. (due at the meeting)

4) Submit payment of $250 which will cover the training fee for the entire summer.  Cash or Check made payable to Geo Thomas. (due at the meeting).

4) The candidate must work at  the Spring Break Basketball Camp (April 5-9).  This camp will be at Berkshire and run from 9am-3pm.

5)  Within two weeks, candidates will receive a letter via US Mail confirming their hire or no hire status

6)  If offered the position, Interns must work a minimum of two weeks during the summer.  The maximum number of weeks to work is six.  Candidates can choose the weeks they want to work, pending availability and seniority.


Youth Basketball Official:  Must be certified with the MHSAA or willing to go through the AlphaWolf Training Program for officials.  Pay Range is $13-$22 per game based on experience and level of league play.  To inquire about the training program, contact Jim Arlen at 248-767-7455.
